We ate at Siam Sushi today (1-1-13) and the food was good. However, the service was down right terrible. The waiter lead us to the table and just tossed the menus on the table and waked away. When he came back, sometime later, my wife asked what the lunch specials were. The waiter just pointed outside to to the board on the walk outside (where it could not be read inside) and did not even offer to let her know what they were. It did not get any better. Even though the food is reasonably good I will never eat there again. They just dont seem to need anymore business.

When we got back from a trip to New Orleans we were sad that we would be without good Cajun food. Well we read your review of Angelette's and gave it a try. It really did make the grade for Cajun cooking. I especially liked their Crawfish Etouffee with a bottle of Abitta beer.

Great review, also love Angelette's! Another absolutely wonderful breakfast is Eggs ala Duane - eggs with grit cakes topped with andouille sausage and crawfish cream gravy. Ask for extra gravy on the side to eat with your grilled french bread - yummy!
And their soups & sandwiches are good, especially with a side of zucchini fries and remoulade sauce.
FYI, they're open until 2:30pm, and also Tuesday nights for gumbo and Thursday nights for specials - check out their Facebook page for updates.

Enjoyed your blog! I'm a Facebook fan of Angelette's so saw it when they bragged on your review. I'm a close friend of the owners of Morelia's Authentic Mexican - don't know if you know but they've been in Tallahassee over 13 years but had to move last year due to lease issue. They've been open not quite a year in their new location, 1355 Market Square, in shopping center at corner of Timberlane & Market St. and could use some more word-of-mouth recommendations. Please give them a try, Jesus makes a wonderful Mexican guacamole and he's a great guy!

Tried the Wharf Express out on North Monroe, by Winn-Dixie for the first time just a few months ago and was impressed. Have to admit I was a little afraid of the "Express" part, but they didn't disappoint and we've gone back several times since. Sad thing is, just drove by today and saw that they're closed down...not sure what happened there. And then by chance I find your post...didn't realize there were more in town, thanks for the clue-in. :)

I love making these infusions. Limoncello, which is sweetened and watered down, I can take it or leave it. Here are some ideas you might like to try:

1 pint Tequila infused with 1 jalapeno, quartered w/ seeds

Vodka with strawberries or raspberries

Vodka with dried cherries

Vodka with dried cranberries. Use in cosmos

Vodka with a heap of crushed black pepper. Use in Bloody Marys

Rum with lime zest and 1-3 cracked allspice berries

Have fun.
